From its beginnings in 1982, Waterline Yachts has been dedicated to the design and construction of the finest round bilge steel sailing and motor yachts. A philosophy of constant improvements, evolution of design and building techniques has been the foundation on which each boat is built. All Waterline Yachts hulls are custom designed specifically for steel construction. The hull is a round bottom form without chines. The hull is plated with 1/8 - 3/16'' mild steel, the keel with 3/16 - 1/4'', and at the deck/coachroof areas with 10-12 guage plate. All frame shapes are conically developed so the plate will conform naturally without stress or deformation. The bow is an extremely strong, round 'bullnose' cone which is much more aesthetically pleasing than the common 'knife edge' or pipe steel bow. A unique longitudinal framing system is used throughout so the plate is supported and reinforced along its curvature rather than transversely, as it is done in large freighters. Transversely framed boats, when poorly built, are best remembered for their 'hungry horse rib' look after a few years service. The system used by Waterline Yachts is more commonly used in the aircraft industry and relies on smaller, more numerous frames.

'TIN SOLDIER' is a fast, safe and powerful cruising yacht, ideal for a couple or a small family.  A very comprehensive refit was completed in 2022, after almost two years on the yard.  The boat was taken back to bare steel, some hull re plating, much sanding and fairing and highest quality paints.  The original coachroof was removed and a new larger design constructed to open up the interior.  Down below the interior was remodeled, the forward cabin had been split into two cabins, the galley rebuilt and much timber replaced with local hard wood 'Chengal'.

The following is a non exhaustive list of repairs and renewals;

Polyurethane sprayed foam insulation from new, the steel condition is excellent.

A superb steel cruising yacht.

Interior

Entering the interior down the companionway the aft double cabin entry is to port. The yacht's single bathroom is to starboard and the large galley commands the upper level.  Moving down into the roomy saloon all upholstery is new and so much joinery has been replaced with solid hard woods.  The new hardwood deckheads have flush fitting lights throughout.  Full forward the double cabin is well lit and has an overhead hatch.

Showers and Heads

The yacht has one bathroom with dry head, shower, sink and vanity.   The head is a 'Sealand Vacuflush' connected to a ten gallon holding tank and macerator.

The 'Vacuflush' operates with a pump generated vacuum which uses only about a pint of water per flush.  This is a fresh water operation, ensuring no nasty odours that arise from saltwater flushing.  The system draws 4-6 amps.
