COMMENTS
This is a 45’ Racer Cruiser designed by Frers and built by Carroll Marine, RI, USA in 1990. This design has been a successful racer under a number of different rules. This 45 has been top boat on Chesapeake Bay in PFRF and just won the ORC Racer/Cruiser division in the 2023 Annapolis Newport Race. It has undergone recent improvements and has been maintained for complete functionality and safety. It is ocean and inshore race ready with updated equipment, rigging, electronics, sails and safety gear. It is truly in “just add crew” mode.
It is also a comfortable fast cruiser with 2 private cabins and berths for 6 with a full galley and enclosed head. A Leisure Furl Boom for easy mainsail reefing/furling allows the boat to be easily day sailed by two people which the present owner has frequently done in addition to active racing.
The bottom and blades have been professionally faired and painted and the the boat has been dry sailed for the last 10 years.
This is a very well maintained and equipped all around racer/cruiser that ia available at a very reasonable price.

CABIN LAYOUT
There is a large main salon with upholstered settees and pilot berths on each side. The engine is located in the middle of the salon with a sound proofed engine box with access hatches and is covered by a tabletop. The Navigation station is located in the aft side of the salon to port. The galley is located to starboard. There is a CNG 3- burner stove with oven (new 2019). CNG is lighter than air and therefore much safer than propane. There is a deep sink and icebox. Going aft there are two aft cabins with a queen-sized bunk in addition to single bunk. There is storage, a port hole for ventilation and a hanging locker in each cabin. There is an enclosed head compartment forward to port. The Toilet is a fresh water VacuFlush, full size and there is a handheld shower. The main holding tank under the port salon settee and the secondary 6 gallon holding tank is forward in the forepeak. Forward holding tank is a ‘canister’ that can be removed and emptied on shore similar to a port-a-potty without the need to organize a pump out and is very convenient for day sailing.
