1992 Bowman 47

Bocas del Toro

$169,000

This stunning Bowman 47, has been custom built throughout. Completed in 1992, no
expense has been spared in creating what could be described as a modern classic.
MoonFlower (MF) has been upgraded over the years. Originally an Australian Navy sail
training school vessel in Perth WA (1st Owner) she was bought by her present owner in
2002 and sailed worldwide since 2006. MF is Australian flagged and registered. Built by
SunYachts in 1989, finished and commissioned in 1992. She was built under Lloyds of
London survey by Capt. James Black. She was one of the last of the Bowman47 family
and converted from the classic Yawl design to a fast and comfortable Cutter rigged
Sloop.
Generous use of teak inside and stainless steel on deck and a custom teak timber
parquet floor plus a full complement of modern electronics capable of world cruising.
MoonFlower’s hull was spray painted with Navy Blue Awlgrip paint, 4 coats, in late 2019
and her decks in white Awlgrip 2018.
5 coats of Trinidad Antifouling were applied during her haul-out in 2019. New cutlass
bearing and stuffing box were also fitted. Some light blisters in her antifouling were
taken care off.
Bowman Yachts were designed by Holman & Pye, UK. (Rival Bowman, Oyster…)
MoonFlower presents a rare opportunity to own a very special vessel at an absolute
fraction of her replacement cost. (hull only replacement in excess of $750k)
Please contact the owner via email for an inspection on site in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
Offers for this serious bluewater cruiser are expected above $ 165k
Owner is cutting short his circumnavigation, selling due to family commitments.
