2007 Najad 380
Rigging and Sails:
This Najad 380 is a well-equipped and meticulously maintained sailing vessel, perfect for any serious sailor. In 2018, the standing rigging was completely renewed, with the last inspection conducted in April 2022 and the last tuning in September 2022. The running rigging was replaced in September 2022 with high-quality Dyneema halyards and specific lines. The vessel features a Selden IMF, Selden 300S Genoa roller furling, Selden backstay adjuster, and a Selden rod kicker. Additional rigging includes a Walder boom brake, a port/starboard jibe preventer installed in December 2023, and a Windex from December 2022. The sail inventory includes an Ulman mainsail and a 150% Ulman Genoa, both new in 2018, as well as a gennaker/spinnaker pole with Dyneema lines. The cockpit is equipped with Anderson winches (28ST and 46ST x4), and there are two Anderson 28ST winches on the mast.
Engine and Mechanics:
Powered by a reliable Yanmar 4JH4-E engine with less than 3000 hours, this vessel has been fully serviced yearly. It features a 120 Amp Valero alternator with a built-in regulator (installed in March 2023) and a Balmar external regulator used as a spare (wired in January 2023). The Extreme Marine start battery (12V MCA1000 CCA 750) was replaced in December 2023. Recent maintenance includes cleaned fuel tanks and polished fuel in December 2022, a new coolant pump in November 2022, a rebuilt raw water pump with a ceramic seal in November 2022, and serviced mixing elbow and heat exchanger in November 2022. The vessel is equipped with a Kanzaki KM4A gearbox, a SIDE POWER tunnel bow thruster, and a MAX PROP auto feathering 20" propeller with a rope cutter, serviced in December 2023. A new engine hour meter was installed in April 2024.
Electronics:
The electronics on this Najad 380 are state-of-the-art. It boasts an RM AXIOM 9S PRO MFD at the nav station and an RM AXIOM 17S PRO MFD at the helm, both new as of December 2022. Additional electronics include an RM 170S multifunction display, RM VHF 73E with DSC, Furuno GPS antenna, RM AIS Transceiver 650, and RM Quantum Doppler Radar 2Q24D, all new in December 2022. Other features include a McMurdo ICS NAV6 Navtex, Fischer Panda Mobil power control panel, Sea Me radar target enhancer, Spectra MPC5000 control panel, and comprehensive Najad shore supply and DC panels. Entertainment is provided by a Fusion Apollo RA770 center.
Cockpit:
The cockpit features a NAVPOD housing for the 17" Axiom, new in December 2022, and new RM I50 DEPTH, I60 WIND, and I50 SPEED instruments installed at the same time. The RM remote Bluetooth VHF R70616 with a charging bracket and external speaker, RM P70S autopilot, RM Evolution EV1, and ACU linear drive were also installed in December 2022. Additional upgrades include a Silva 125FTC illuminated binnacle compass and a Reiner 2055 inclinometer, both new in December 2023.
Systems:
This vessel is equipped with a Spectra Newport 400 watermaker (requires service), an Eberspacher heat/vent system, and a Sigmar hot water heater. A Rule 3700 auto bilge pump ensures safety, while a Fischer Panda 4KW genset (new in 2014) provides reliable power. The Iridium/Predict Wind marine package (new in January 2023) offers modern communication capabilities.
Electric/Energy Systems:
The Najad 380's electric and energy systems are robust, featuring an Eclectic D400 wind machine and 550 watts of solar power managed by a Victron smart solar charger controller MPPT 100/50 and a Victron BMV712 smart battery monitor. A Victron 12/2000/80 inverter charger was installed in April 2024, and the vessel houses four Relion lithium batteries (100 Amps each, new in 2019). Additionally, a Uni step-down transformer (2000W, new in January 2023) and various shore power cords and adapters are included.
Ground Tackle:
The ground tackle system is top-of-the-line, featuring a Lofrans Project X2 1500 watt windlass (new in December 2022) with both wired and wireless remote controls. Anchoring is handled by a Mantus M1 55lb primary anchor with an Osculatti SS swivel, 275 ft of 5/16 HT G43 chain, and 50 ft of nylon rode, all new in December 2022. A Fortress FX 23 secondary anchor with chain/rode, a Mantus universal bridle, and various snubbers and mooring lines complete the setup.
Head:
The head compartment includes a Jabsco manual twist'n'lock toilet, a shower, a vanity, and a vented/heated wet locker. All sanitary hoses, the toilet, and the holding tank valve were replaced in December 2022, along with a new shower pump.
Galley:
The galley is well-appointed with a BI 91 Isotherm fridge (new thermostat in October 2022) and a BI 41 Isotherm fridge/freezer (new in October 2022). Cooking is made easy with a Force 10 LPG 3-burner stove with an oven and remote switch, and a new LPG regulator, hoses, and fittings were installed in September 2023. Safety is ensured with a fire blanket on a bracket (new in December 2022).
Hull and Deck:
The hull is waxed and buffed yearly, with the last maintenance in December 2023. Keel bolts were inspected and cleaned in September 2022, and water tanks were removed, inspected, and cleaned at the same time. All seacocks were serviced in December 2023, and the rudder shaft seal was replaced in October 2022. The steering system was inspected and lubricated in December 2023, and the bottom was treated with Coppercoat in 2016. The teak decks are in excellent condition and maintained yearly. Additional features include a Sunbrella bimini with Strataglass windows (both new in December 2022), a stern arch and crane with solar panels, custom davits (refitted in April 2024), and custom Sunbrella cockpit cushions (new in January 2023).
Safety:
This Najad 380 is equipped with numerous safety extras, including an EPIRB (new in December 2022), spare PFDs, a Jon Buoy (new in December 2022), all LED nav lights, a Seago 4-person ISO 9650 liferaft (new in December 2022), Wichard jack lines, a first aid kit, a sea drogue, a ditch bag with a watermaker, factory-installed lightning arrestors, and Navionic charts for North America and the Caribbean.
