INTRODUCTION:

STELLA’s current owner has spared no expense in both upgrades and preventative maintenance. Improvements and significant maintenance (beyond the extensive normal annual service) since 2022 includes:

  • Hull:  Hinckley DualGuard® Composite Construction Kevlar/E-glass hybrid outer skin with aircraft grade end-grain balsa below the waterline, and a Carbon-fiber inner skin. Laminated with a vinylester resin (SCRIMP®).
  • Deck:  E-glass outer and inner skin with aircraft grade end grain balsa and closed-cell foam core. Laminated with vinylester resin using (SCRIMP®).
  • Marelon ® ball valve seacocks with thru hulls below waterline and Marelon ® thru hulls above waterline.
  • Swim Platform - Heavy-duty fiberglass swim platform with teak insert treads, S/S bracket and S/S half-round rubrail
  • Quarterguard painted to match hull with stainless steel half round rubrail extends forward from swim platform to protect tumblehome

The interior is finished in satin-varnished cherry and an acoustic foam headliner with cherry trim. The cabin sole is varnished teak and tulipwood and has a custom cabin sole cover. Louvered cherry locker doors and (5) Frigast stainless steel bulkhead lights add to the cabin ambience.

Entry is from the pilothouse tri-hatch folding companionway to the Galley to port, private Head to starboard and the V-berth accommodations forward.

The stove is set in the countertop and has a custom stove cover that adds to the already ample counter space surrounding the sink. The sink also has a Corian cover. Microwave is built in outboard. The refrigeration is mounted aft and is accessed by a counter lift-up top. A “pantry” locker with louvered door and several shelves separates the galley from the forward V-berth area and houses the stereo system.

 

Head (Next aft starboard):
